As the main research and innovation centre in Switzerland, the canton of Vaud has established itself as a leading European technology hub. He is strongly committed to supporting innovation and the creation of start-ups.
The country's largest university campus and several world-renowned research centres are based in the canton of Vaud, such as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), the Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV) and the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research. The canton is also home to many internationally renowned companies active in life sciences, micro-nanotechnologies, information and digital technologies, as well as energy and environmental technologies.
Innovaud created the Scale-up VAUD program in 2016, which aims to enhance the value of these companies and support their growth, in particular by promoting them and providing targeted support for their development and internationalization. A unique alliance between the know-how developed by companies and the scientific discoveries emanating from our research centres has enabled the emergence and deployment of some fifteen specific areas of innovation.
