Sign our Manifesto for the recognition of Sustainable Enterprises!
To create systemic change, we advocate for a new policy framework that recognizes and incentivizes sustainable companies in Switzerland. Therefore we launched a Manifesto for the Recognition of Sustainable Enterprises. We call on all Swiss decision-makers to support our initiative and sign the manifesto.
Belfont SA
Founded in 1954 in Geneva, we are a third generation company specialized in the supply of diamonds for the watch industry.
We supply the major groups and have our own manufacturing facilities, which allows us to focus on the very specific needs of our customers.
We are a certified member of the RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council) and are equipped with the latest generation of machines for the detection of synthetic diamonds.

Goal 1
By 2024, 100 % of our suppliers are Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) certified, ensuring that they meet the same standards of social and environmental responsibility that we apply, compared with 50 % in 2022*.
* According to the Code of Practices (CoP) standards. Annual site visits in India, going beyond the audit to individual supplier awareness and support through to certification.

By 2025, we ensure 100 % traceability of our gemstone sourcing, from mining company to delivery, audited annually internally and externally by an auditing firm, compared to 20 % in 2022*.
* Traceability of each arrival tracked in our ERP, tracing the origin of each batch. Already Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) certified.

Goal 3
By 2025, we are Net Zero (Scopes 1 & 2), and commit to the SME Climate Commitment initiative (SME Climate Hub)*.
* As Scope 3 represents the majority of our tCO2eq emissions, an analysis of our Scope 3 is underway by a specialized external audit firm and will be addressed as soon as possible.
Internal operations
Goal 4
By 2024 we donate 1 % of our profit to a poverty-fighting initiative in our main supplier country, India*.
* Representing a 300 % increase compared to 2020.
Collective Action
Scope of Pledges:
Belfont SA is active in Switzerland and in various markets around the world through its suppliers and partners in India, Israel and Belgium. The pledges taken within the STI framework relate to the sustainability policy applying to all Belfont SA operations carried out in Switzerland and in India. The company is therefore accountable for their implementation within the limits of its scope of activity.
